About Us

Meet the team behind 135 Degrees:

Larry-Lujan-crop

E. Larry Lujan, Investor

One of Larry Lujan’s passions is, and has always been, to help New Mexico’s individuals, businesses and communities grow and prosper. Now it happens to be his two sons and brother-in-law that he gets to help.

“They are all at that point in their lives where they wanted to try something on their own, and bring our family tradition to the food business – I am excited to help them do it.”

John-crop

John Lujan, Business Manager

John graduated from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Business with a degree in entrepreneurial studies, and began his career working in sales at Hewlett Packard. Although John had great success there, he was eager to leave corporate life and launch his own enterprise. John is the business and front-of-house manager for 135 Degrees.

Tom Brinson, Chef

Tom has an impressive resume working in the catering and restaurant business. Recently retired after 30 years with Marriott Hotels, he began his cooking career with three years at 4 Hills Country Club, and six years at High Finance, Liquid Assets and Options. While at the Marriott, Tom worked as a chef and event manager at several hotels, including JW Marriott Desert Ridge Phoenix, Renaissance Indian Wells, JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, and Rancho Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage. He also catered for a private party at the Masters Golf Tournament for 10 years. Tom has always wanted to open his own restaurant and is excited to join John and Joe in making this dream a reality.

Joe Lujan, Chef

Joe is a self-taught chef who has loved cooking from an early age. Beginning in high school, he has worked in various cooking venues, exposing himself to many different types of cuisine. Joe also operated his own catering company at Brush Ranch in Pecos. Entrepreneurship, hospitality, and love of food all run in the family – two of his uncles are chefs. He is excited to be in business with his brother and Tom Brinson, and is looking forward to opening a restaurant with the 135 team soon.
